The unit tends to leak through pinholes which are due to impurity of copper tube material from cheap production country. The oil, a part of Freon makes most plastics parts brittle and replace indoor unit. This situation is a subject of recall, however, the company avoids ruining the company name offering free replacement parts for long period. I have repair three pin holes in one indoor unit. I deep researched this unit before purchasing, previously had small portable units (worked, but labor intensive)...basement would always be 15 percent higher humidity than upper house (deep summer would yield 70 percent humidity downstairs)...I "rafter" hung unit with run off directly to my furnace's evaporation pump (used clear tubing to see water discharge)...as "summer" just arrived and downstairs was reading 56 percent humidity I set unit to 50 on control and 11 hours... more

Hooked up the heater in late June, so no way to tell how it will work when the cold weather arrives. Hook up was easy, except the schematic didn't really tell which of the possible 5-6 spots the two line thermostat was to be hooked. Blew a fuse the first time I turned it on, but the second placing of the thermostat lines worked.

Indoor Unit: Very easy installation. This little 9k unit cools a 10 by 10 room and can easily lower the temp down into the low sixties. It is so quiet and you can hear yourself breathe while it's on.
