I bought this in-line fan to pump warm air into a chase containing hot and cold water pipes. When outdoor temperatures drop below 15 degrees Fahrenheit, the air in the chase falls below freezing, so I was worried that the pipes would freeze. This little fan together with flex duct (I stripped away the outer insulation) solved the problem. I received the boiler in a timely fashion. The box was undamaged. I took it inside and removed the cardboard and it all seemed to be there and in good condition. I was surprised to see it had an outdoor reset built into it. It comes with the outdoor sensor. I will not be hooking this up until spring as I do not want to interrupt my heating system during the cold weather. But I do not foresee any issues. I've got a 334 sqft bunkhouse/office on the ranch. It's been pretty toasty this summer so far & I've been on the computer alot. Needless to say computers are great for putting out heat!! It got to the point where I could only do computer work at night & then I would have to step outside where it was only 90 to cool off. My husband and i are old (70 and 60), and we were able to install this thing by ourselves, though it is heavy, and it is difficult to lift it above your head into the attic. We did have an electrician come do the wiring, but, it comes with a cord and a plug, so we were able to connect it to a wall outlet and use it for the couple of weeks it took for the electrician to come. without a switch, it just runs on high, but that's what you're most likely to use in the summer anyway. it's very... more
