I installed this unit about a month ago to heat/cool our 3rd floor loft (finished attic) and it has been working flawlessly so far. It is energy efficient and was straightforward to install using the instructions provided and the appropriate tools (torque wrench, vacuum pump in addition to standard tools). I ordered the Modine unit from this site. After i placed the order I received a call from a customer rep to verify the order details. I realized then that I did not ask for lift gate on shipping. The rep added that for me. I received the unit within three days and it installed quickly. It works great!

My husband and i are old (70 and 60), and we were able to install this thing by ourselves, though it is heavy, and it is difficult to lift it above your head into the attic. We did have an electrician come do the wiring, but, it comes with a cord and a plug, so we were able to connect it to a wall outlet and use it for the couple of weeks it took for the electrician to come. without a switch, it just runs on high, but that's what you're most likely to use in the summer anyway. it's very... more

We bought this unit to replace a 30 year old unit. We wanted one very similar so installation would be easy and a do it yourself job. I am always leery about on line shopping, but ecomfort made me comfortable with my experience. The unit was exactly what we wanted and installation was fantastic. We had to modify one piece of duct work--which was really nothing. I would shop at ecomfort in the future.
