I have used these before on a 2nd floor. Really was looking for something to put tile on rather than a mortar base. These are great, east to cut, easy to put down fabric and then tile using unmodified thinset. It's been several years and still looks good, water drains well.

Contractor grade fan got noisy within 2 years and progressively got worse. It was above a bedroom and became so loud it interfered with sleep. This fan is in same location and you have to open attic door to see if it is running. Time will tell if it was worth the price but initially it is a good investment.

I used this inline fan to hook up to my vent hood in my kitchen. Even though this product was assembled in America, the motor was made in Germany and you certainly can't go wrong with German technology. I also brought LD10 silencer to attach directly to the fan and placed the silencer between the vent hood and the fan. I also purchased the FC10 clamp to hold the silencer and fan in place. I have extensive building trade skills so installing the AC unit was quite simple for me to tackle myself. I had to have a branch 220v electrical panel added to service the unit. The only problem I had was finding a HVAC contractor to test the unit for leaks prior to firing it up.
