2-star Heats Well But Controls Bad Sep 08, 2016

I live in the Colorado mountains and we needed to replace the electric heaters in our bedroom. This heater heats great, but it will not heat to temps below 60 degrees. We like the bedroom air temp cool summer and winter. The controls have 2 timers you can program, but the lowest temp you can program is 60 degrees. That makes no sense. Every thermostat I have seen goes a lot cooler. There is a set back control that goes a lot cooler, but it is totally manual. either on or off.

Our main house is cooled by a 2.5 ton conventional a/c. I replaced that unit in June with a new American Standard (Trane) a/c. On the back of the house is a Florida room 44' x 12' that was not air conditioned. Three sides of the room are sliding glass doors, circa 1989, overlooking a lake and facing east. 4-star Unit Woks Great But Concerned About The Lack Of Warranty Aug 01, 2016

It was easy to install and start up but in reading the manual no warranty is supplied unless the system is installed by a certified installer. The house was cold and it was Saturday so no option of contracting help. Gas furnaces are inherently reliable so probably not a problem but some warning may have changed my mind of self performing.

I replaced a Dunkirk XEB-3 (20 yrs. old) with the Dunkirk boiler above. The new one is all most identical to the old one, that is the pipes were located same as the old, so gas and water lines were easily plumbed. The old electrical wires could be used although lengthened to connect to the digital controls. The circulators location has changed, it's still provided with its wiring provided. Venting is the same as the old one. I was happy to get another Dunkirk that installed easily.
