While I haven't yet installed the fan, I did unbox it and plug it in. I'm no acoustic engineer, but I could barely hear it operate and that was at the motor end. I'm not sure what 45 dB sounds like or maybe I'm hard of hearing - my wife tells me I'm hard of listening but this thing is quiet and that's with it strung out on the hardwood floor. Our new Mitsubishi makes our bedroom an oasis. This mini-split is ultra quiet and takes the humidity out of the air in short order. My husband (who is a Handy Andy) did all the preliminary installation with no problems, we chose to mount the outside unit on a stand made for mini splits rather than to our cement board siding. A licensed HVAC man came in to do the final vac of the lines to get it fired up, and we could then validate the warranty also. We find setting it at 68 degrees works... more
