We had this water heater (Amtrol Hydromax HM-80) installed as part of a remodel in Dec 2013. Over the weekend (end of June 2016) it started a fountain out of the top and was getting everything around it soaked. Called service Monday morning, they said, yup, seen this before. Needs full replacement which is covered by the 7 year warranty however, their labor at $700 is NOT covered. I'm pissed. Also questioning what better brand we should buy. This was my first mini-split installation, and it was time consuming but easy. The system is very quiet while running, easily have a conversation standing next to it and I can't hear it standing around the corner of the building, 10' away. The installation is on a semi-secluded lake cottage with only nature for ambient noise, it is that quiet. Opened box well packaged, no scratches or dents. Easy to remove panels easy to install and thick paint on panels. All panels are insulated except front control panel. Digital display for internal temperature of boiler, adjustments can be made for efficiency and temperature. One difference that I have noticed is the fan is a little more noisy than the model that I removed. It's just something to get used to.
