I recently installed my QuietCool1560 in my gable, it's a nice install similar to the old unit I replaced. Old unit made it twelve years but was loader and shakier. If this unit lasts as long and uses so much less power I will be very impressed.Old unit cheaper up front but used a lot more power and had a 3 yr warranty.Quick delivery, came in undamaged packing. I installed a WarmWire heated floor in a 6'x8' coat room that had no other source of heat. It is on a concrete slab with 2 outside walls and a wall to an unheated attached garage. I glued 2 6mm thick sheets of Cerazorb synthetic cork directly on the concrete. It was super easy to lay the wire on top on the cork using the metal clip system provided. To be safe, I laid a sheet of 1/4" luan plywood on top of the wires while laying the tile. I checked the resistance in the wires at each step... more

I have used these before on a 2nd floor. Really was looking for something to put tile on rather than a mortar base. These are great, east to cut, easy to put down fabric and then tile using unmodified thinset. It's been several years and still looks good, water drains well.
